Looking to sell your home? Here are some quick, easy and inexpensive tips to make your home more
appealing to buyers.
- Trim bushes so they don't block windows and cut down on light.
- Buy a new doormat.
- Place a pot of bright flowers (or a small evergreen in winter) on your porch and/or plant bright flowers as landscaping.
- Place new doorknobs on your doors or polish the old ones to a gleaming shine.
- Put a fresh coating on your driveway.
- Edge the grass around walks and trees.
- Keep your garden tools out of site.
- Be sure children put away their toys.
- Buy a new mailbox.
- Upgrade the outside lighting.
- Use warm, incandescent light bulbs for a homey feel.
- Polish or replace your house numbers.
- Clean your gutters.
- Put out potpourri or burn scented candles.
- Buy new pillows for the sofa.
- Buy a flowering plant and put it in a window you pass by frequently.
- Make a centerpiece for your table with fruit or artificial flowers.
- Replace heavy curtains with sheer ones that let in more light.
- Buy new towels.
- Put a seasonal wreath on your door.
Remember: First impressions are what sell the house. You never get a second chance. These extra little touches may make a big difference when it comes to the buyer making an offer.

Brigita, you have been a very busy bee. I love the recent posts....great mailer ideas too, right? Take care!
Kristin:
Certainly are great mailer ideas. Feel free to use them.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

And have any wasp nests, bird nests, and mud nests removed from under the roof eaves. Those nests don't get built overnight, so they make a home look old and unkempt.
Russel:
Funny you should mention that. I showed a home to my clients and there was a LIVE hornet's nest outside on the deck. And it was HUGE. We got out of there quickly.
