PERKS OF BEING OVER 50
1. Kidnappers are not interested in you.
2. In a hostage situation, you are likely to be released first.
3. No one expects you to run - anywhere.
4. People call at 9 PM and ask, " Did I wake you?"
5. People no longer view you as a hypochondriac.
6. There is nothing left to learn the hard way.
7. Things you buy now won't wear out.
8. You can eat dinner at 4PM.
9. You can live without sex but not your glasses.
10. You get into heated arguments about pension plans.
11. You no longer think of speed limits as challenges.
12. You quit trying to hold your stomach in no matter who walks into the room.
13. You sing along with elevator music.
14. Your eyes won't get much worse.
15. Your investment in health insurance is finally beginning to pay off.
16. Your joints are more accurate meteorologists than the National Weather Service.
17. Your secrets are safe with your friends because they can't remember them either.
18. Your supply of brain cells is finally down to manageable size.
You may e-mail this to anyone you can remember.

Brigita, very cute - I can relate to several, and there must be others - I hope. I will pass this along.
Brigita - Funny stuff! I think I like this one the best:
3. No one expects you to run - anywhere.
Brigita, Another one is that you begin getting a senior discount because you look like you qualify. Also, you are less likely yo be carded.
I can relate to a few, but actually I am 55 and I exercise 5 days a week, stay up until usually 11:00, sometimes until 1:00 am when we go night fishing, eat dinner around 8:00 even though it's not good for you and still love sex.

You've made my Friday! LOL. Great humor for those of us who suffer from AGE, thanks so much.
Steve:
If you can think of any more, let me know and I'll add it to the list. :-)
Jason:
That is a good one! LOL
Jimmy:
Oops! How can I forget that one? :-)
Roxanne:
Good for you! I get a good workout at the barn and riding. Remember, there are always exceptions to the rule! :-)
Kathleen:
Humor is a good way to start off the weekend! Especially after a bad week.
Have a great one! :-)
Pretty good list. Once I hit 50 my attitude toward some things changed but not my desire to be happy!
Gary:
Good for you! Keep that positive attitude and keep on smiling! :-)
Good list Brigita, Now that I am celebrating my umteenth anniversary of my 50th birthday, I find that life after 50 is not all that bad...
I enjoyed reading the post and will pass it on to my friends and also share with some Seniors that I work with if you don't mind.
Brigita-I resemble these remarks! I love the one on elevator music! It's so true. :-)
Michael:
As far as I'm concerned, 50 is just a number. You're as young as you feel.
Gita:
I don't mind at all. Pass it along to anyone you would like. :-)
Laura:
I can relate to some of these myself. Somehow I never eat at 4 PM though! Always ends up later. LOL
Brigita, what a great list! I am so sending this to my older brother who will turn 50 in March. (Is it bad that I can already relate to some of these???) LOL!!!
Dearest Brigita....
Watch out for #1 .... [ kidnapper here ]
I think those perks sound like much older people than 50! I turned "50" 10 days ago, this post makes me want to take even better care of myself, esp since I feel like I just started phase II in life, the better phase :)
Debbie:
It's not bad at all. I'm sure many of us relate to some of these. Even those that aren't 50. LOL
Rob:
Ohoh! I'd better be careful. Don't want to have a kidnapper get me. LOL
JoLynn:
There are always exceptions to the rule. I know a few that are under 50 that some of these will apply. LOL Remember, you are as young as you feel.
I think the age mark should be raised to 65 or 70, most people I know at 50 are doing great!!
I would add that I am much smarter than I was at 35, even though I would not have believed that would be the truth when I WAS 35
Karen:
It doesn't all happen once you hit 50. These are just the things we have to look forward (?) to as we age over 50. LOL With age comes wisdom. Most of us have certainly learned a lot through the years. :-)
