Horsey Wordless Wednesday - Little Horse, Big Power

Horsey Wordless Wednesday - Small With Lots of Muscle Power

This past weekend Equi-Librium Therapeutic Center in Nazareth, PA held their second annual horse show.  The participants were the students, who showed family and friends what they learned over the year.  The weekend was also the Northampton County Open Gate Farm Tours, of which Equi-Librium participated.  At the end of the horse show, instructors had their chance to show what they were able to do in a speed class using the school horses.  Here, the driving instructor has Li'l Bear hitched to a cart.  Li'l Bear is a miniature horse that is about the size of a Great Dane.  You can see how strong he is pulling the cart with an adult sitting in it.  They participated in the speed competition along with the riding horses.  Even though Li'l Bear did not win, they put a lot of effort into it to show that the little ones can do as much as the full size horses.

It amazes me how strong they are for their size.

That man weighs more than that little horse.  Asking it to haul that big guy around ought to amount animal abuse!

Myrl,

Miniature horses are used to pull little carts.  Of course they do have other jobs they can do, but this is one of the most common.  It is unbelievable how strong they are.
