Horsey Wordless Wednesday - Unusual Herd Buddies

At the farm where Pippa is boarded, here in Eastern Pennsylvania, there are five other horses in her herd that are her buddies.  She also has other buddies that join the horses from time to time, which are not so common.  Turkeys, for one.  The turkeys usually strut their stuff walking through the paddock, along with guinea hens and chickens.  Now, Pippa loves to chase the chickens.  She will trot with her nose down, "herding" the chickens along until the chickens end up leaving the paddock.  It is so enjoyable watching all the antics of the animals at the farm.  I must say, there is never a dull moment.

Those turkeys look like they need some exercise. We're nowhere close to Thanksgiving.

The colors of those turkeys are magnificent.  And, I can picture Pippa herding them!

Brigita, I'll be those turkeys would taste amazing - if you could ever bring yourself to eat them.  Talk about free range!

Kristin,

Whenever I need to get away from the stress, need time to relax and just be alone to think, I go to the farm and watch.  So relaxing.

Kevin,

Maybe that is why Pippa chases them when they are in the pasture or paddock.

Patricia,

These turkeys are pets, although one of them did end up as dinner for a local fox.
