Learn About Pre-Purchase Exams for Horses

As REALTORS, we always (I hope) strongly suggest to our Buyers to have a home inspection as well as inspection of the outbuildings on a horse property.  This way we know as much as possible about the property and buildings as possible, helping the Buyers' decide on whether or not to purchase the property.

This holds true for purchasing horses.  Once a horse is found that is being considered for purchase, a pre-purchase exam is strongly suggested.  As with horse properties, this helps find out as much as possible about a horse and whether or not it would be able to do what the intended use would be.

To help understand the pre-purchase exam on horses a little better, The Lehigh Valley Horse Council will be sponsoring this event on September 17th, 2015 at 7:00PM at the Northampton County 4H Center located at 777 Bushkill Center Road outside of Nazareth, PA.  The topic will be "The Pre-Purchase Exam" with Dr. Regan McCann, D.V.M. from Quakertown Veterinary Clinic as the speaker.

Dr. McCann will discuss what you do, what you will need and what to expect for a pre-purchase exam.  She will also discuss ideas on how to look at your horse on a daily basis to address issues the may become potential problems.

This event is FREE and open to the public.  Hope to see you there.

Brigita,

That is a great service being offered. I find that too many people don’t know what a horse needs in terms of space, training and daily care.

David,
That is true. Education is so important in horse ownership. There is so much involved in owning a horse.
