Love Horses? Come Out to the PA Horse World Expo!

                                            Horses running in the field

Love horses?  Want to see them and learn more about them?  Then, the 6th Annual Pennsylvania Horse World Expo is an event you cannot miss.  It will be held on February 21 - 24, 2008, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA.  It is open to the public and there is something for all.

Educational seminars, mounted demonstrations, stallion avenue, breed demonstrations  are just some of the many scheduled activities.  There will also be a trade show consisting of hundred of vendors selling a variety of horse products and services for all ages and every discipline.

Some famous and knowledgeable horse people, such as Josh Lyons (son of John Lyons) and Richard Shrake, will be speakers and doing the demonstrations.

"Theatre Equus, A Musical Equine Revue" will be held once again this year in conjunction with the Pennsylvania Horse World Expo.  It will be held at 8:30 PM on February 22 & 23.  It is a professionally choreographed performance that everyone will remember.  It includes:

  • Bridleless Dances
  • Death Defying Tricks
  • Dancing Andalusians
  • Comic Antics
  • Spinning and Sliding Horses
  • Fiery Fanatics
  • Amazing Acrobatics
  • Mounted Sharp Shooting
  • Native American Dancing
  • A Finale you will never forget

Admission to the Expo is $12 for Adults, $6 for children ages 7-12, and children under 7 get in for free.  "Theatre Equus, A Musical Revue" requires a separate admission ticket.

A new additions to this year's Expo is the Wind Rider Equestrian Challenge.  This is a Cross Disciplinary Competition that is growing in popularity in the US.

Don't worry about the cold, because all of this is held in the warmth of the indoors.

So, if horses are your thing, or even if they're not, come out and see and learn about the horse.  It's an event you will always remember.

I have been to the expo, and I thought it was great.  I advise anyone that loves horses to be there to look at what is to offer.  If you have houses for horses you should be there to talk to people.

Andrew:

It certainly is a great place to go.  There definitely are many people there to meet.  Great opportunity to talk to people for RE Agents.

Why Brigita, you little horse lover you.  Glad to see you're taking advantage of localism with your posts, though I couldn't find this one there.

Here's a horse event from Kentucky .

Kentucky Home Inspector goes to the Georgetown Kentucky Festival of the Horse

Erby:

I certainly am and been one ever since I can remember.  My room was always covered with horsey stuff.

Checked out your post on the "Kentucky Festival of Horses".  There were some neat looking horses there.  Would love to see it if I am in the area at that time.  I have the opportunity to go to the Kentucky Derby this year.  I have never been to it before.  I'm all excited about it!

Thanks Brigita, I just placed a phonecall to my cousin to see if she would want to attend.  Her daughter owns and rides and they are curently on the market to purchase another horse. As you can imagine, we too are horse fans.

Melissa:

This is a great place to go if you love horses and want to learn more about them.  The girls will simply go crazy there.

If your cousin is in the Lehigh Valley area, have her contact me.  I get notices of horses for sale in the area.
