Is It Really October? I Thought I Missed A Couple Of Months!

First snow in the Lehigh Valley, PAYesterday, parts of the Lehigh Valley and the Poconos here in Pennsylvania saw their first snow.  Yes, I said the dreaded four letter word, SNOW.  (I have to admit, it does look pretty, though.)  The funny thing is, this is October, not December.

Our area doesn't usually see snow in October.  It has been unusually cold this week.  The temperatures have been at 40 degrees or the upper 30's.  Our normal highs for this month tend to be in the low 60's.  Quite a big difference I would say.

The forecast through the weekend is for more snow and rain, depending on what your elevation is.  The higher you are, the better chance for snow and more of it.

It seems to be temporary though.  The long range forecast for next week is nicer weather with temperatures back into the low 60's.  Now that's more like it!

My wife's family is from OH and they love the snow. It's just been rainy here for what seems like forever this year.

Yes, absolutely we missed Fall . Here in Chicago, it's straight from summer to Winter. It is very cold and in the past 5 years, Ido not remember starting hater in OCT, but this year we started in last week of Sep it-self.

I do not know how much heating bill we receive this winter months :-(

No snow here in central kentucky, yet!  But then winters here are comparably (too those further north) mild!  Snow usually disappears in just a few days.

But, we still get some.  I love it.

I'm trying to keep my heating bills down as much as possible.  The good thing was my AC bill was low this summer.

Late Sunday we started seeing patches of blue (is that what the sky looks like?) and some light coming through the clouds.  Is that actually the sun?  LOL
