Monday, May 25th is Memorial Day. This is a day for us to remember our fellow men and women serving our country overseas, fighting and giving their lives for us and our freedoms.

With the sad news this past week about our young men keeping us safe, we must pray for them. They are our national treasures. God keep them.

Prayer:
"Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen."

Prayer Request: When you read this, please stop for a moment and say a prayer for our troops around the world.

Of all the gifts you could give a Marine, Soldier, Sailor, Airman, & others deployed in harm's way, prayer is the very best one.

This weekend, while enjoying the extra day off, the picnics and the beginning of summer, remember our troops, for what they do for us. Pray for God to keep watch over them and to return them home to us safely, so they may be able to enjoy life as we do.

Thank you for this post....we always need to remember why we can enjoy our BBQs.
Thank you for this post, as I read the prayer it gave me chills as I realized how much all of us take for granted the men and women protecting us and our rights.
Our troops are the reason we are able to celebrate any sort of holiday. We definitely need to take time to think about and pray for their safety.
Karen:
We must remember to say thank you to our servicemen for what they are doing for us. We tend to take it for granted.
Heather:
They are sacrificing their lives for our country so that we can enjoy a day off.

Jim & Maria:
If we come across a military person, we should get in the habit of saying thank you. It will make them feel good about why they do what they do.

Brigita, thank you for the thought provoking post. ~jen
Brigita, this is what it is all about...not picnics, days off,the beach for oneself...it is in memory of those who allowed us to continue to have that freedom...let's hope most look at it this way.
Jen:
You are welcome!

BLR Guy:
People seem to just take this as a 3 day weekend and not realize why. We need to remind others why. Without the servicemen and women, we would not have any freedom to do these things.
