Yesterday was the Northampton county 4H Annual Tack Sale. I had reserved a table for myself and shared it with my 4H members and my mortgage person for horse farms.
This was also a perfect time for me to mingle with other horse people and get word out there about my business and specialty in horse properties.
Even though there weren't as many buyers there as in previous years, there were still plenty of people looking for bargains. I even manged to find one of my own. Many people just walked past the tables unless they saw what they were looking for.
So, instead of staying at my table, I took my show on the road, you might say. I walked around the grounds mingling with many. Some I knew, some I just met. Doing so, I met up with a number of people that were thinking of either selling or buying real estate within the near future. I handed out a number of business cards and some of my literature.
I would say it was a rather successful day. Not to mention it was a gorgeous day to be outdoors.

That's a great way to get yourself known to the market you are approaching. Great idea!
Brigita,
I was going to email you today to apologize for not being there. I had all intentions of going and had been looking forward to it. My husband (who's not much into road trips) was all geared up as well. We were going to go fishing early in the morning and then off to your 4H event around 10:30.
Friday I got a request from a Realtor friend who asked if I would do a last minute home inspection. I was really going to turn it down, but my friend was in a bind. The other inspector canceled at the last minute. So I did it and ended up wishing I hadn't. Buyer and seller were both rude and obnoxious and it really felt like a waste of a beautiful day.
Anyway, I'm sorry I didn't make it. I was looking foward to meeting you and sharing some horse talk.

Karen:
You need to go where the people are to get yourself known!
Brigita
Suesan:
You think maybe that's why the inspector cancelled out?!?
I was looking forward to meeting you, also. We'll meet at some point, possibly another horse event.
Brigita
Brigita,
Actually I've been thinking the same thing about the other inspector. I love that picture, your horse is such a cutie.
Sue
Brigita, I admire you and all that you do for our animal brothers and sisters! I wish we could meet some day...you are living the dream. I love the photo too!
Sue:
Eddie, my TB, is a handsome guy! I wouldn't trade him for anything!
Brigita
Kristin:
I'm sure at some point we will meet. If you ever come out to this area, I'll introduce you to Eddie. :-)

Brigita - In my next life I'm going to be more involved with horses. As a kid I always wanted one, have adored them, but never was in a position to really be as close to them as I would have liked. I do have a grand-daughter (age 8), who is very serious about them, and takes equestrian lessons each Saturday.
Myrl:
It's never too late! You can still get into horses. It is great no matter what the age. :-)
Brigita
Brigita - Well, I'm older than the Gods, and a fall from a horse would likely kill me:-)
Myrl:
You're not that old! I know of riders in their seventies still actively riding. All you need is a dead quite horse and a helmet. This is what keeps me young. :-)
